Dear colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to welcome you once again to the Nephrogenetics Workshop. Our workshop now looks back on a long-standing tradition: for more than ten years, it has regularly taken place on the evening before the Berlin Dialysis Seminar and has become an established platform for scientific exchange in the field of nephrogenetics.

It is particularly gratifying that the key review lectures from our workshop are regularly published in the journal “Nieren- und Hochdruckkrankheiten.” Once again this year, a special issue has been published reflecting the current developments and discussions in our field.

The past years have been characterized by a remarkable paradigm shift in molecular genetic diagnostics. Genetic testing is increasingly moving to the forefront of the diagnostic work-up of patients with kidney and metabolic diseases, opening new possibilities for more precise diagnostics and individualized therapeutic approaches.

I sincerely hope that this year’s program will once again capture your interest and provide valuable inspiration for both clinical and scientific work. My special thanks go to all speakers and organizers whose contributions make this workshop possible.
